Garlic Granulated

Size

Garlic (Allium sativum) is a species in the onion genus, Allium. Its close relatives include the onion, shallot, leek, and chive. It is native to Central Asia and northeastern Iran, and has long been a common seasoning worldwide, with a history of several thousand years of human consumption and use and has been used both as a food flavoring and as traditional medicine.

Garlic powder or granulated garlic, which is mainly used as a condiment in food preparations, has a different taste than fresh garlic. If used as a substitute for fresh garlic, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder is equivalent to one clove of garlic. Garlic powder also serves as a carminative and gastric stimulant in many medical preparations.

The process of making garlic powder comprises drying and dehydrating the vegetable, prior to powdering it through machinery or home-based appliances contingent on the scale of production. Garlic powder is a common component of various spice mixes. It is also a common component of seasoned salt.
