Ajwain Seeds are also known as Carom, Ajwain caraway, and bishop’s weed. Its origin is Central Asia and cultivated near the bank of the river in Pakistan, Egypt, and India. Its seeds are widely consumed worldwide, and its fruit is barely eaten. It has a bitter sharp pungent smell and tastes like oregano which is an Italian herb. It contains a good amount of thymol and its smell is like the thyme leaves. It is used to add in curries, pickles, and steamed or roasted chicken to impart a strong aromatic essence instantly. Nutritionally, it is richer in vitamins, fiber, and minerals and helps improving digestion. It provides miraculous relief to chew it when you have flatulence and any kind of abdominal discomfort. It can be roasted and fried in butter to flambé a variety of Daland a little pinch of Ajwain is enough to give the meal a strong tempting flavor. This is also used to add in bread, biscuits, and salty cakes to enhance the flavor.
