Are there any more evocative words in the English language than Turkish delight? Full of Eastern promise and lightly dusted with Narnian magic. 

Turkish delight or lokum is a family of confections based on a gel of starch and sugar. Premium varieties consist largely of chopped dates, pistachios, and hazelnuts or walnuts bound by the gel; traditional varieties are often flavored with rosewater, mastic, Bergamot orange, or lemon.
The confection is often packaged and eaten in small cubes dusted with icing sugar, copra, or powdered cream of tartar, to prevent clinging. Other common flavors include cinnamon and mint.

The origin of the confection is not precisely known, but the candy is known to have been produced in Turkey as early as the late 1700s.

These are regular plain Turkish delight with pistachios.

Turkish Delights are a delight

Living out in the boondocks have to wait till we travel across the pond to get these. These are much less expensive than the airfare and just as good. Perfect. Nice subtle pistachio flavor that fills your mouth after you bite in.
