The Irish Moss is also known as Sea Moss it is from the Caribbean Islands. It grows widely along the sea rocks in a warm oceanic environment and it is species of red algae. It is harvested from the sea. It is used in Ireland as a supplement for decades as a healing sea vegetable. It is also used in vegetable soups, and broths, and used for the fortification of products for malnourished individuals.
It is soft rubbery in texture and when soaked in water it becomes large and mucilaginous. Conventionally it was consumed as a liquid broth but now due to its great nutritional properties, people used its drink and shakes for weightless purposes. Used along with Isinglass, Gum Arabic, and Linseed (Flax Seed) to make a refreshing drink. Nutritionally it has naturally selenium, vitamin B12, Vitamin C, and collagen present in it, which helps us; strengthen our muscle fiber and immune system.
