Are there any more evocative words in the English language than Turkish delight? Full of Eastern promise and lightly dusted with Narnian magic. 

Turkish delight or lokum is a family of confections based on a gel of starch and sugar. Premium varieties consist largely of chopped dates, pistachios, and hazelnuts or walnuts bound by the gel; traditional varieties are often flavored with rosewater, mastic, Bergamot orange, or lemon.
The confection is often packaged and eaten in small cubes dusted with icing sugar, copra, or powdered cream of tartar, to prevent clinging. Other common flavors include cinnamon and mint.

The origin of the confection is not precisely known, but the candy is known to have been produced in Turkey as early as the late 1700s.

These are regular plain Turkish delight with pistachios.

Right after my order, I received an email stating there could be a delay in shipment because of the COVID-19 pandemic. NYSH was willing to respond to my special request to ship the items immediately so I could ship them on with other treats to my father-in-law for Father's Day.
