Damiana, also known as Old Woman's Broom, is a small shrub native to the southwestern US, Mexico, and South America. A cousin to the passionflower vine, damiana produces aromatic but bitter-tasting leaves that are combined with other herbs in tea blends.
Damiana has a somewhat bitter flavor with an aroma similar to chamomile slightly sweet, and mildly earthy. Combines well with spinach and other bitter greens, such as arugula and dandelion.
How to Use?
Primaily used for tea preparations by Steeping 1–2 teaspoons of cut & sifted Damiana leaves in 8 ounces of boiling water for 5–10 minutes.Extracts the flavor, aroma, and beneficial compounds gently without overcooking the leaves.
