The Chana Dal is also known as “Yellow Lentil Dal”. Dal is the generic term used for all lentils in the Indian subcontinent. It is yellow in color and hard in texture. Chana dal refers to chickpea (white chana) that have been processed, in which there is removing of outer husk and polishing of the inner core. This polished, clean, and processed core is what we called “Chana dal” - Yellow Lentil Dal.
It is needed to soak Chana dal before cooking for 2 to 4 hours and then simmer it while cooking or give cooker pressure of 1 to 2 minutes. Flambé the dal with our Smoked Paprika, Garlic Salt, and Parsley ground spices to give it a unique and pleasant taste.
